We're the Millers is one of my favorite movies. Jennifer Anniston, Ed Helms, Emma Roberts and Will Poulter interact so well together throughout the entire movie, and it always kept me laughing. The above four scenes are a few of my favorites.

1. The first scene when Brad (Ed Helms), a.k.a. the drug smuggler, walks into the office with a bag over his head and politely gets offered some "Coffee. Tea. Fresca." made me giggle. Now keep in mind this guy has a bag over his head and is also being escorted in by two very large guards. If that's not incongruity theory then I dont know what is! Because the hostess shows no attention to the bag being on Brad's head, it makes it so funny that she's being so nice. The first time I saw this I was so shocked that he wasn't being treated differently. And then he stops and asks the guards if they want something too?? I think it's safe to say he was not scared at all that he was being held hostage.

2. While the whole "family" are in the RV coming back from their drug smuggling gig, they turn on the radio and Kenny (Will Poulter) starts singing every single word in a high-pitched tone to the song Chasing Waterfalls by TLC. What an iconic song. If you haven't this movie before, let me inform you that they aren't a real family and they all just met each other. So, hearing him sing this song was a complete and utter surprise, as you can tell by Brad, Rose (Jennifer Anniston) and Casey's (Emma Roberts) response. Personally, I have never heard a male's voice get that high before, so as you most likely did too, I burst out in laughter. For me, this scene was more relief theory because given that they're in a high stress situation, since they're smuggling drugs back from Mexico and crazy obstacles they've encounter, the funny singing relieves everyones stress.

3. When they meet another RV family, they end up staying at their camp site and they join in a game of Pictionary and it's Kenny's turn to draw. His word is skateboard and Rose takes some wild guesses. I shall not restate what her guesses were but they were hilarious. You can tell that the other family is so uncomfortable because they know that she is way off.

4. In the last of my favorite scenes, Kenny gets bite in his no no area by a teranchella. He starts screaming and freaking out (like anyone would). But they encourage him to take his pants off and show them how bad it is. Well he refuses a few times but then gives in and shows them how bad it is. It's so gross. I've never been bit by a teranchella, and especially not in my private area but wow... that looked so painful. But we tend to laugh at people's pain, which would fall under the superiority theory. If we're not personally experiencing the pain, we laugh even if we don't mean to.

  1. These are some pretty funny clips! It's funny how strange the plot is too. I can't totally make sense of it all. If you watch the whole thing does it make more sense?

    1. Yes!! That clip skipped all over the place and if you watch the whole movie, it's super easy to understand the plot.
