Home Alone Blog Response

I agree with Ellery and her views on Home Alone and Home Alone 2. My family never really watched these when I was younger, or at least I didn't pay much attention to them, we are more of a Santa Clause series and Elf Christmas movie family. But I remember watching them a few years ago and was flabbergasted by the little boy, Kevin. Sometimes I wonder myself if I could ever do that, and realize that I never would've been able to defend myself or my house like that. Thinking about for one that my parents could possibly leave me behind on a family vacation makes me so terrified.
They didn't realize until they got all the way to the airport that Kevin wasn't with them and even though they have so many kids, I feel like I would notice if I was missing a child before then. Also imagining dealing with two intimidating males, who broke out of prison, gives me so much anxiety. This 8 year old kid is probably more smart than I ever will be when it comes to setting booby traps. My favorite trap that he set was in the first movie, and he put water on the stairs that were already covered in ice. If you have ever tried to walk on ice, I feel like you had to find this one funny as well. In case you didn't know, putting water on ice just makes it even harder to walk on the ice. I think we've all tried to walk on ice before, and it either ended well or it didn't. I'm from Atlanta, Georgia so it doesn't snow very often. I remember a few years ago we got snow, and I decided to take my dog on a walk around the neighborhood. There's this one hill near the park and my dog was determined to walk across the icy hill in the middle and not wait till we got to the bottom, where it was flat. Well guess what, we busted it. My poor dog lost her footing, and I lost mine as well so we were both just sliding down this hill. The best part was a car had just passed us before we crossed, so I know for a fact that the person driving saw us bust it. Hands down one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. Because of this scaring moment, the reason why I laughed so hysterically at this scene can be explained through the superiority theory. Since I've personally experienced something similar, but not so similar, I felt in a way better than them because I would never attempt walking up those stairs.
